
Tulane Women’s Tennis Visits No. 40 Florida State Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's tennis will aim for its fourth consecutive victory as it squares off with No. 40 Florida State in Tallahassee, Florida, on Saturday. The match between the Green Wave and the Seminoles is set for 11 a.m. CT.
Tulane will enter the matchup against Florida State with a 10-6 record on the season including wins in its last three matches. However, the Wave has a 1-4 mark in road matches this year.
The Green Wave and Florida State have met six times in program history with the all-time series tied 3-3. The Wave holds a 1-1 record against the Seminoles in matches played in Tallahassee, Florida. The last time Tulane defeated FSU came on February 19, 2005, by a final score of 4-3. The Green Wave defeated the Seminoles in its last trip to Tallahassee 4-3 on March 6, 2004.
Tulane is led in doubles action by the pairing of Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell. The duo holds a 12-2 record on the season including 8-2 in their last 10 matches. In singles play, Tulane is paced by Yelamanchili with an 10-1 record followed by Russell at 9-3 on the year. Cora Barber is also off to a strong start on the singles courts as she is a perfect 4-0 to start the year.
Following the match with the Seminoles, the Green Wave will travel to Memphis, Tennessee, where it will face Cincinnati on Saturday, April 9, and Memphis on Sunday, April 10. The match between Tulane and the Bearcats is set for 11 a.m. CT Saturday while the matchup against the Tigers is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. CT Sunday.
