
Tulane Golf Competes in AAC Tournament

PINEHURST, N.C. – The Tulane golf team heads to Pinehurst, North Carolina on Sunday to participate in the American Athletic Conference Tournament.

The Wave will tee off with Carla Bernat, Cleo Liu, Carlota Palacios, Sandra Vazquez and Miriam Emmert.

Tulane's best finish of the year came at the Reynolds Lake Oconee Invite in Georgia back on February 18th when they finished 5th.
Â
Bernat has had the best overall finish four Tulane this season with her eighth-place performance at the Trinity Forest Invitational back in March. Bernat competed in the Augusta National Women's Amateur last weekend, a highly touted honor in golf.

The Tulane University women's golf team finished eighth in The Bruzzy in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday.

Tulane had a team total 878 while No. 17 Baylor took the tournament with 843.
After a promising first round on Monday, the Green Wave sat in fourth place, holding their own versus eight ranked opponenets. Heading into day two the Wave sat tied for fourth overall.Â

Freshman Carla Bernat finished with the best card for Tulane. She finished day two, over two-over-par at 74 which was good for a tie for 20th place. Bernat had a great second round of play on Monday shooting a 70 and shot a 74 in the first round.

Teammate Cleo Liu was right behind her at tied at 23rd with a total card of 219. Liu shot two-under in the first round, three-over in the second and a 74 in the third round. Â

Sandra Vazquez had the next best score with a total of 221. Vazquez was even in the first round and two-over in the second. Vazquez carded a 75 in the third round to land her tied for 32nd.

Carlota Palacios carded a 223 through the three rounds. Palacios shot four-over in the first round and redeemed herself by shooting par in the second, before finishing with a 75 in the final round.

Miriam Emmert rounded out the Tulane scorecard a 227. Emmert's best round of the invite was the second, shooting just on-over at 73.
