Tulane Sailing Prepares to Host ICSA National Championships

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University sailing program is in preparation to host the Inter-Collegiate Sailing Association (ICSA) National Championships from May 16-26. The spring championship regattas will be hosted by the Green Wave at the Southern Yacht Club with the races taking place on Lake Pontchartrain.
Tulane will put on the championship competition for three different disciplines with the assistance of the ICSA. The Team Race National Championship will kick off the championship events May 16-18. It will be followed by the Open Dinghy National Championship May 19-22 while the Women's Dinghy Championship will wrap up the competition May 23-26.
The Green Wave will enter the ICSA National Championships as the No. 12 seed in the Team Race National Championship among the 16 teams racing. The top-overall seed in the regatta is Yale University. The full field competing with listed by seeding is below:

Tulane earned bids for both the Open Dinghy National Championship and the Women's Dinghy Championship as well. Those races will be help following the completion of the team race championship. The semifinals for the Open Championship are scheduled to take place May 19-20 and be followed by the finals May 21-22. The semifinal round for the Women's Dinghy Championship will follow May 23-24 and the championship round will close out the event May 25-26.
The Green Wave COED team landed as the No. 7 seed out of 18 teams in the Open Eastern Semifinal while the Tulane women's team will compete as the No. 6 seed among the 18 teams in the Women's Eastern Semifinal. Full seeding for the semifinals of the Open Dinghy Championship and the Women's Dinghy Championship is listed below:
