
Tulane Hosts Fleet Race Conference Championships

NEW ORLEANS – Championship action returns to Lake Pontchartrain this weekend as Tulane University sailing hosts the SEISA Fleet Race Conference Championships on Saturday and Sunday, April 18-19. The Green Wave looks to sweep the SEISA fleet race championships for the sixth consecutive time.

The open championship will feature eight teams competing on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain including the Wave. The other teams racing for the conference title will be Kansas, Louisiana Tech, Rice, Texas A&M, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, Texas A&M – Galveston, and Texas. Meanwhile, in the women's championship regatta Tulane will compete against crews from Texas and Texas A&M.

Racing in the championship regattas is slated to start at 10 a.m. on Saturday. The open championship will be the first race to begin followed by the first race of the women's championship. Competition will continue Sunday at approximately 9:45 a.m., if necessary.

The format for the open championship will feature eight total races while the women's championship will consist of six total races. If three or more races have not been completed in either regatta on Saturday, racing will continue Sunday.
