
Steele Takes Gold as Green Wave Competes in Tom Tellez Invitational

HOUSTON – The Tulane University outdoor track & field team competed in the Tom Tellez Invitational in the Carl Lewis International Complex on Friday.
Tulane athletes claimed four podiums and six top five finishes at the meet.
Graduate student Kara Steele won the triple jump with a leap of 12.66m, the longest jump by a Tulane athlete this season. Jordyn Lesh took fourth in the event with a 11.72m jump.
Megan Fitzgerald and Nastja Modic tied for third in the pole vault with 3.82m vaults each.
Freshman Matthew Remondet took third in the javelin with a 47.15m throw.
Freshman Kiland Harrison took fifth place in the 100m sprint with a time of 10.39 seconds.
Tum Bethwel took 10th in the 800m with a time of 1:58.91, just off his season-best of 1:57.35.
The Tom Tellez Invitational was Tulane's final meet before the AAC Outdoor Championships in Wichita from May 13th to 15th.
