Green Wave to Compete at the Bama Invitational
Sep 29, 2022 | Men's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Men's Tennis team will travel to Tuscaloosa, Alabama, this weekend to play in the Bama Invitational from Saturday through Wednesday.
The Green Wave will send four student-athletes to take part in the tournament over the weekend. Fifth-year senior Benji Jacobson and redshirt junior Charlie Barry will lead the Wave into Tuscaloosa alongside newcomers William Kesterson and Sam Scherer.
Two doubles teams will compete for Tulane in the tournament and each pairing will compete as one unit throughout the entire tournament. In addition to competing as a doubles pair, the players on each team A will play in singles against the players on team B from their doubles match. Whichever pairing wins two of the three matches will advance in the bracket.
Doubles play will begin at 11:30 a.m. on Friday and Saturday, with singles action to follow at 1:30 p.m. On the final day of the tournament on Sunday, Tulane will start doubles action at 10 a.m., followed by singles play at 11:30 a.m.
Tulane is coming off another strong weekend for its fall campaign during which it secured 18 total wins across singles and doubles competition in two separate events. The Green Wave earned seven victories at the Battle at the Beach and another 11 wins at the Southern Miss Invitational.
