Tulane Visits South Florida Saturday

TAMPA, Fla. – Tulane University Women's Basketball (11-6, 1-3) will aim for back-to-back league victories as it visits American Athletic Conference foe South Florida (15-4, 4-0) on Saturday. The matchup between the Green Wave and the Bulls is set to tipoff at 6 p.m. CT in The Yuengling Center.

This marks the 50th all-time meeting between Tulane and South Florida with Tulane trailing the series 20-29. Tulane dropped the first meeting against South Florida this season 61-69 in New Orleans on December 30, 2022. The Wave holds a 9-12 record on the road against South Florida with its last win in Tampa, Florida, coming on February 6 by a final score of 67-55.
In its last time out, Tulane earned its first AAC victory of the season on Wednesday by defeating Wichita State 76-53 at home. Rachel Hakes led all players with 19 points on 7-of-10 shooting while adding four assists. Kyren Whittington and Marta Galic each posted double figures as well with 16 and 11 points, respectively.
Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Green Wave this season. Galic leads the team with 13.6 points per contest. Dynah Jones follows with 12.3 points per game while Whittington posts 11.8 points per game. Galic leads the AAC and ranks seventh nationally in three-pointers per game with 3.06.
Tulane ranks second in the league in assists per game (16.9) and assist-to-turnover ratio (1.02). Rachel Hakes leads the league in assists (90) and assists per game (5.3).
South Florida enters the matchup with an 15-4 overall record and a 4-0 mark in league play following a 58-45 over Memphis on Wednesday in Tampa. The Bulls are averaging 70.0 points per game while surrendering just 58.8 per contests. South Florida leads the conference in field goal percentage (44.3), free throw percentage (73.9), and three-point percentage (35.4). Elene Tsineke leads the Bulls and the league in scoring with 17.4 points per game while Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu paces the team and the conference in rebounding at 11.9 boards per game.
Following the matchup with the Bulls, the Green Wave will venture to Orlando, Florida, to face UCF on Tuesday. Tipoff between Tulane and the Knights is set for 5 p.m. CT.
