
Tulane Falls to Tulsa 79-81

TULSA, Okla. – Tulane men's basketball fell to Tulsa 81-79 in its first OT game of the season on Saturday night.

The Green Wave was without its top rebounder Kevin Cross but totaled a season high 43 rebounds on the night.

Sion James and Tylan Pope had the best stat lines for Tulane. James scored 15 with nine rebounds and three assists and zero turnovers. Pope dropped 12 and totaled nine rebounds as well.

Jalen Cook led the team in scoring with 23, but notched a season high six turnovers on the night.

Tulane had its worst night from the free throw line, shooting just 72.0 percent going 18-25. Â The Wave did however win the turnover battle for the 17th time this season.

The Green Wave led for most of the second half after trailing in most of the first. Unable to get ahead by more than four left room for Tulsa to knot things up late and send the game into overtime.

Tulsa hit a three to start OT and led throughout to get the win 81-79.
Tulane returns to action on Wednesday when it heads to Wichita State for evening tilt.Â
