Women’s Indoor Track & Field Ranked Regionally by the USTFCCCA

NEW ORLEANS – After three strong performances to start the season, the Tulane women's indoor track & field program is ranked No. 8 in the South Central Regional by the USTFCCCA, the organization announced in its poll that was recently released.
Tulane received a total of 117.90 points in the poll. The Green Wave are one of 10 women's teams from the state of Louisiana that are ranked regionally. Among the 10, only LSU (No. 5) has a higher regional ranking than Tulane. The Green Wave are also one of three from the American Athletic Conference that are ranked regionally in the South Central along with SMU (No. 6) and Houston (No. 12)
The women's team has seven athletes that are ranked among the top 10 in the South Central Region in Victoria Robinson – 8th – 800m, Sophia McNerney – 9th – 800m, Distance Medley Relay Team – 3rd, Alexis Potts – 10th – pole vault, Kara Steele – 6th – triple jump, Kristen O'Handley – 1st – pentathlon and Laura Fodor – 7th – pentathlon.
The women's program also has 16 athletes that are ranked among the top 10 in the AAC in Victoria Robinson – 4th – 800m, Sophia McNerney – 5th – 800m, Janae Dean – 6th – 800m, Reese Ragland – 7th – 800m, Mackenzie Callahan – 5th – mile, Sophia McNerney – 10th – mile, Kristen O'Handley – 6th – 60m hurdles, 4x400m relay team – 7th, distance medley relay team – 2nd, Alexandra Potts – 3rd – pole vault, Megan Fitzgerald – 8th – pole vault, Kara Steele – 3rd – triple jump, Maren Butler – 2nd – shot put, Kristen O'Handley – 1st – pentathlon and Laura Fodor – 10th – pentathlon.
The poll was voted on by a panel of head coaches representing each of the conferences around the country.
Next, the program travels to Boston for a pair of meets in the city. The program sends a delegation to compete in the Bruce Lehane Scarlett and White Invitational on the campus of Boston University starting on Feb. 3. The program will also send a group to participate in the Crimson Elite at Harvard University that same weekend.
