
The Green Wave is Back at Home to Host Wichita State

NEW ORLEANS- Tulane Volleyball (4-14)Â will be back at home Friday night when they take on Wichita State (11-5)Â in an American Athletic Conference West Division matchup.
Game Notes:Â
Sunday versus Memphis:
Tulane fell to Memphis in another conference road match, 3-1.
The Green Wave was led offensively by freshman outside hitter, Avery Burks. Burks finished the match with 15 kills and a .279 hitting percentage. Redshirt sophomore middle hitter, Ilayda Demirtas was second on the team in kills finishing with 11.
Right side hitter, Kathrine Crosley and middle blocker Sabrina Skyers led the team in blocks finishing the match with three assisted blocks a piece.
Sophomore defensive specialist Mackenzie Mahr had a career-high match finishing with 13 digs.
Statistics:
Tulane is second in the AAC in team blocks per set averaging 2.52.
Middle blocker, Sabrina Skyers, is a large reason for Tulane's blocking prowess. The sophomore ranks first in the AAC averaging 1.27 blocks per set.
Graduate libero, Lauryn Burrows, remains in the second position in the AAC in digs averaging 4.68 digs per set.
Graduate defensive specialist, Savannah Perry is ranked second in the service aces per set category averaging 0.43.
Freshman, outside hitter, Avery Burks is averaging 3.24 kills per set. which places her fifth in the AAC.
Wichita State Matchup:
The Shockers are off to a 11-5 start this season placing them third overall and third in the west in conference standings.
Their sole conference loss came against SMU in their first match playing the Mustangs (3-0). In the second match against the Mustangs, Wichita State came out on top, 3-1.
Last season, Tulane and the Tigers faced off twice. The Green Wave defeated the Shockers in the first meeting, 3-2. Wichita State came out on top in the second meeting, 3-1. Tulane leads the series record 6-3.
