HARAHAN – The No. 22 nationally ranked Tulane University bowling continued the team's strong team showing on the second day of the Colonial Lanes Classic, held at Colonial Lanes, in recording a 4-1 record against the competition. The program is placed fifth overall with 9789 pins.
The Green Wave started the day with 1097-806 victory over Florida A&M. The team fell to North Carolina A&T 1064-876 in the second match. Tulane rebounded for a 924-856 win over Prairie View A&M in the third match, defeated Jackson State 937-828 in the fourth match and ended the second day with a 996-985 victory over Sam Houston State
Kristen Derr led Tulane and finished ninth individually with her 1054 pins. She had individual games of 235, 204, 178, 224 and 213 for an average of 210.8 on the afternoon.
Mia Stolakis finished 20th individually with 1005 pins. She had games of 256, 178, 181, 170 and 220 for an average of 201.
Katharina Mente earned 59th place with a 753 in four games for a 188.25 average. She had individual games of 196, 191, 188 and 178.
Emma Fetterman was 62nd with a 702 in four games for a 175.5 average. She had individual games of 205, 166, 160 and 171.
Sofiia Druchyna took 69th with 617 in three games for a 205 average. She had individual games of 214, 189 and 214.
Morgan Gitlitz ranked 77th with 532 pins in three games for a 177.3 average. She had individual games of 205,161 and 166.
Cassidy Williams placed 95th with her 167 in her only game of the afternoon.
On the third day, teams will compete in three rounds of match play in a playoff bracket. Each of the rounds in match play will be a best-of-seven baker match. Tulane starts the day battling against No. 6 seed Stephen F. Austin in lanes 7-8.
