
Jennings, Makuvire Ready for 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. – Jack Jennings and Bradley Makuvire will represent the Tulane University cross country program this weekend at the 2023 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Charlottesville, Virginia. The duo will compete in the men's 10k which is scheduled to begin at 10:10 a.m. CT on Saturday.
The meet will be held at Panorama Farms and will be broadcast live on ESPNU with a pre-race show beginning at 8:30 a.m. Awards will also be streamed live on WatchESPN and the ESPN app following the races beginning at 11 a.m. Fans can follow along for live results of the race by clicking HERE. Thirty-one teams will be represented in the men's 10k alongside 38 individual qualifiers.
Jennings and Makuvire both competed in the 2022 NCAA Cross Country Championships in Stillwater, Oklahoma, a season ago. Jennings crossed the finish line at 30:11.8 to finish 99th at last year's championships while representing Villanova. Meanwhile, Makuvire placed 169th with final time of 30:36.4 running for the Green Wave.
The pair earned their automatic bid for the NCAA Championships by finishing sixth (Makuvire) and seventh (Jennings) at the NCAA South Central Regional in Fayetteville, Arkansas, last weekend. Both athletes beat the Tulane program record for a 10k race set by Emmanuel Rotich in 2017 (29:41.1). Makuvire posted a final time of 29:25.1 while Jennings followed with a time of 29:27.1.
