
Tulane's 800 Free Relay team
Individual Marks Power Wave on First Day of AAC Championships

DALLAS, TX – Tulane took part in relay action on the first swimming day of the 2023 American Athletic Conference Championships Wednesday evening in Dallas.
The Green Wave competed in the 200 medley relay and 800 free relay and posted some individual highlights over the course of the two races.
Junior Riley Hendrix posted a 50 back leadoff leg in the 200 for a lifetime best (26.02 seconds), shaving 0.33 seconds off her previous number. Hendrix led a quartet that also included Liv Davison, Bella Lojewski and Grace Dale, which finished in 1:43.46. That mark qualifies for the 2023 College Swimming & Diving Coaches Association of America (CSCAA) National Invitational Championship (March 9-11) in Elkhart, Indiana.
Senior Kate Amar posted a 1:49.45 200 Free leadoff leg in the 800 for another lifetime best and a mark that stands seventh all-time in the Green Wave's records. Amar topped her previous mark by 1.4 seconds. The relay consisted of Amar, Sydney Mullin, Lojewski and Elena Gingras and their time of 7:24.95 made the Green Wave's all-time top 10 list.
Finally, Quinlan Hinerfield swam a 26.23 opening leg of her 200 medley relay race, her best time at Tulane.
The Green Wave currently sits in ninth place with 90 points in the team standings.
