Green Wave Set to Battle Bearcats Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Basketball (13-9, 3-6) looks to bounce back into the win column as it hosts Cincinnati (7-14, 0-8) in Uptown Saturday afternoon. The matchup between the Green Wave and the Bearcats is set to tipoff at 2 p.m. inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

This marks the 38th all-time meeting between Tulane and Cincinnati with the Green Wave leading the series 19-18. Tulane has won three straight over the Bearcats including an 80-56 victory in New Orleans last season. The Wave holds a 10-6 record at home against Cincinnati with wins in the last three matchups in Uptown.

In its last time out, Tulane lost its second meeting with Houston this season falling 36-82 on the road to the Cougars on Sunday. Kierra Middleton led the Green Wave in scoring tallying a career-high nine points off the bench. She also matched her career best with six rebounds.

Three players are averaging double figures in scoring for the Green Wave this season. Marta Galic leads the team with 13.1 points per contest. Kyren Whittington follows with 12.5 points per game while Dynah Jones posts 11.5 points per game. Galic is second the AAC and ranks 35th nationally in three-pointers per game with 2.64.

Paced by Rachel Hakes who leads the conference in assists per game with 5.1, Tulane ranks second as a team in the league in assists per game at 16.0.

Cincinnati enters the matchup with an 7-14 overall record and an 0-7 mark in league play after falling on the road to Tulsa 64-50 on Wednesday. The Bearcats are last in the AAC in scoring with 61.2 points per game and surrender the eighth most points per game in the league at 63.6. Cincinnati leads the league and ranks 18th nationally in blocks per game with 4.9. Malea Williams leads the conference in blocks per game with 1.52 and Jillian Hayes ranks third with 1.48.

Following the matchup with the Bearcats, the Green Wave will hit the road to Kansas to face the Wichita State Shockers on Thursday. Tipoff between Tulane and Wichita State is set for 6 p.m. on ESPN+.
