Tulane's Petrovic Named AAC's Men's Tennis Player of The Week
Mar 14, 2023 | Men's Tennis
IRVING, Texas – The American Athletic Conference announced Tulane's Luka Petrovic as the winner of its weekly men's tennis honor for the week-ending March 13.
It was the Green Wave's second straight weekly award after Rafael de Alba earned his last week.
Petrovic (London, England) went 2-0 in singles and won his lone doubles match that was completed to lead Tulane to a pair of wins last week as the Green Wave gained six spots in the ITA rankings. Petrovic was a 6-2, 7-5 winner at No. 2 singles and a 6-4 winner at No. 2 doubles in a 4-1 win against No. 15 Auburn. He followed with a 6-2, 6-1 victory in a 4-0 Green Wave win against Nicholls. Petrovic improved his dual match record to 8-3 in singles in the 2023 spring season.
The team (9-5 overall) will take part in the Ed Collins Spring Classic this weekend in San Diego. That draw will be released Thursday.
