Tulane to Host Louisiana, Middle Tennessee and Alcorn State in Modified Weekend Schedule

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane men's tennis team is set for three matches this weekend at City Park Tennis Center.
The Green Wave will host Louisiana on Friday in a noon matchup, a noon tilt with Middle Tennessee on Sunday, followed by a contest with Alcorn State. The Braves were originally scheduled to face Tulane Friday afternoon after the Louisiana match but have since rescheduled it for Sunday.
For Sunday's matches, beignets will be available for the first 50 fans in attendance, as well as free round-trip Uber rides for Tulane students to and from the Wilson Athletic Center to the City Park Tennis courts between 11 a.m. and 5 p.m. The Uber link is https://r.uber.com/rgJo0AoWAze, while the code is rgJo0AoWAze.
The Green Wave is 3-4 this season and is ranked 62nd nationally after splitting its matches at the Blue Gray Championships last weekend. The Olive and Blue fell to the 25th-ranked Blue Raiders (4-3), but then rallied to defeat 44th-ranked Houston by that same score. With the match tied at 3-all, TU's Alex Bancila fought back from down 5-1 in the third set to win 7-5 at No. 4 singles to give the Green Wave the victory.
Tulane's top singles player, Fynn Kuenkler, is ranked 74th in the latest national singles rankings.
Louisiana is ranked No. 55 nationally is 6-5 this season, following a 4-0 loss at LSU on Sunday. The doubles team of Karlo Kaijn and Alejandro Sanchez Gonzalez checks in at 35th overall.
Middle comes into this match ranked 28th in the country after going 2-1 at Blue Gray. The Blue Raiders followed their win over Tulane with a 4-0 loss to #36 Auburn and 4-0 victory against #41 Oklahoma. Stijn Slump is ranked 69th nationally in singles, while Oskar Brostrom Poulsen is 98th. Meanwhile, Poulsen and Francisco Rocha are 44th in doubles.
Alcorn State is 2-11 this season and has lost three consecutive matches. Its wins are 6-1 over Saint Louis on January 28 and a 4-1 decision over Prairie View A&M on February 18.
