DALLAS – Carla Bernat set a new Tulane women's golf record by recording a tournament score of 13-under at the Trinity Forest Invitational in Dallas on Tuesday afternoon.
Finishing as the runner up, the sophomore shot 70, 67 and 66 to set the record. UTSA had the individual winner who shot 14-under in the tournament.
The team finished seventh with a team card 2-over par. Tournament hosts SMU took the team title having shot 24-under as a team.
"Today was a backwards step as we couldn't capitalize on a stellar second round," head coach Stew Burke said. "Carla continues to set records at Tulane and her -4 on her last four holes to complete her tournament came up just short of win number four and was an unbelievable effort."
Sandra Vazquez came in 31st after finishing 2-over in the tournament, falling from 14th after the first two rounds.
Cleo Liu finished 48th, shooting 7-over and Matilde Innocenti ended tied for 51st with a card of 8-over.
Miriam Emmert rounded out Tulane's total card having shot 11-over.
"Our schedule tests us against the best teams in the nation and we'll be back on the road next week looking to continue our run towards NCAA's,' Burke said.
Tulane competes next in the Florida State Matchup Mar. 17-19 in Tallahassee, Florida.
