
No. 41 Tulane Men Extends Winning Streak to Four

NEW ORLEANS – The No. 41 Tulane men's tennis team (7-5 overall) ran the squad's winning streak to four with a 6-1 victory over visiting Florida Gulf Coast University (6-6 overall) at the City Park Tennis Center on Thursday afternoon.
The team started the day with the doubles point victory. The No. 3 doubles tandem of Billy Suarez / Rafael de Alba defeated FGCU's Carter Bradford / Guglielmo Stefanaaci 6-3. The Tulane No. 2 doubles grouping of Fynn Kuenkler / Luka Petrovic clinched the doubles point for the host team with the 6-4 victory over FGCU's Eric Oncins / Marcelo Sepulveda. The No. 1 Tulane doubles team of Charlie Barry / Benji Jacobson were trailing 5-2 before notching the incomplete following the No. 2 team's clinch victory.
In singles action, No. 2 Petrovic (6-4, 6-1) and No. 5 Luc Hoeijmans (6-4, 6-4) each picked up straight-set victories. No. 3 Suarez also won in two sets (6-4, 7-6), taking the last with an 8-6 tiebreaker. No. 1 Kuekler added a 6-4, 2-6, 6-2 victory as did No. 6 de Alba in three sets (6-7 (6), 6-1, 6-3).

The Green Wave is back in action Sunday for doubleheader action when it hosts a rematch with Auburn at noon, followed by a contest against Nicholls at 5 p.m.
