
Green Wave Hosting SEISA Open Team Race Championship and Competing in Truxtun-Umsted Open Fleet Race

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Sailing will host its final home regatta of the spring as it welcomes teams from the SEISA Conference for the SEISA Open Team Race Championship on Saturday. The Green Wave will also have a team in Annapolis, Maryland, this weekend to compete in the Truxtun-Umstead Open Fleet Race hosted by Navy.

The Wave has swept the last two SEISA Championships finishing first in both the coed and women's races. Tulane will face conference foes North Texas, Texas, Texas A&M, Texas A&M – Corpus Christi, and Texas A&M – Galveston on the waters of Lake Pontchartrain on Saturday. Teams will launch from Community Sailing New Orleans for races beginning at 10 a.m. CT.

Meanwhile, Tulane will also be competing among 13 other teams in the Truxtun-Umstead Open Fleet Race this weekend in Annapolis, Maryland. The regatta will feature 14 teams, five of which are ranked in the Sail1Design College Open Rankings including Tulane at No. 12. The Wave will race against Christopher Newport, Florida State, George Washington, No. 8 Georgetown, Hobart & William, Old Dominion, NY Maritime, No. 7 St. Mary's, Kings Point, No. 10 Navy, UC Santa Barbara, No. 11 Pennsylvania, and Vermont. Competition will be held on the waters of the Severn River with races launching from the Robert Crown Sailing Center on Saturday and Sunday.

Following this weekend's action, the Green Wave will conclude the regular season at the Boston Dinghy Cup Open Fleet Race April 22-23. The regatta will be hosted by MIT in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
