Tulane Begins Blazer Beach Bash Competition Saturday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Beach Volleyball (16-8) will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, to play three dual matches in the Blazer Beach Bash this weekend. The 17th-ranked Green Wave will face Central Arkansas, Southern Miss, and UAB.

Tulane will open the weekend against UCA at 10 a.m. followed by a dual against Southern Miss at 2 p.m. on Saturday. The Wave will finish competition with a match against UAB at noon on Sunday.

The Green Wave is 33-6 overall against its three opponents on the weekend. Tulane is a perfect 4-0 against the Bears of Central Arkansas and 11-0 against the Southern Miss Golden Eagles. The last time the Wave faced UCA it defeated the Bears 3-2 at the Southern Miss Tournament last spring. Tulane swept past the Golden Eagles 5-0 in the last meeting also in 2022. The Green Wave leads the all-time series against UAB 18-6 despite falling 2-3 to the Blazers at the March to May this season.

Tulane is coming off a 1-1 performance in the Stanford Invitational last week. The Wave defeated Saint Mary's 4-1 before dropping a dual against No. 10 Stanford 1-4.

Following Blazer Beach Bash, the Green Wave will wrap up the regular season by hosting Southern Miss for a doubleheader in the Nola Classic on April 22.
