Green Wave Opens Conference USA Tournament Thursday

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – As the No. 3 seed Tulane University Beach Volleyball (22-8) will begin play in the Conference USA 2023 Beach Volleyball Championship against the No. 6 seed Jacksonville State Thursday at 9:30 a.m. CT. The double-elimination tournament will be hosted at Fort Lauderdale Beach Park from Thursday to Saturday.

The Green Wave has not faced the Jacksonville State Gamecocks since the 2017 season when the two schools squared off three times in five weeks. Tulane won all three meetings sweeping each by a final score of 5-0. All three matches were played at a neutral site with the latest being played in the Palmetto Invitational in Columbia, South Carolina.

Tulane is coming off a 2-0 performance with back-to-back 4-1 victories over Southern Miss in the final week of the regular season. The Wave rolled in at No. 17 (CBVB) and No. 18 (AVCA) in the last regular season polls.

With a victory over Jacksonville State, the Green Wave will face the No. 2 seed Florida Atlantic at 12:30 p.m. Thursday. If Tulane loses to the Gamecocks it will battle the loser of No. 1 FAU against No. 4 UAB or No. 5 UTEPÂ on Friday at 8 a.m. CT.
