Maren Butler Places 40th in the Shot Put at NCAA East Regional

Jacksonville, Fla. – Maren Butler finished 40th in the shot put at the NCAA East Regional for Tulane's track and field program on Thursday in Jacksonville, Fla. at Hodges Stadium on the campus of the University North Florida.
Butler ended up ranking 40th in the shot put with her throw of 14.33m/47.25". The throw came on her third attempt of the day. The top 12 in the event qualify for the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Austin, Texas from June 7-10. Butler was placed No. 35 in the East Region in the event from her 15.65m throw achieved at the American Athletic Conference (AAC) Track and Field Championships on May 13. That throw also ranks her second all-time at Tulane in the event.
Next, Bradley Makuvire competes in the semifinals of the 5,000m at 7:10 p.m. CDT on Friday on the third day of the NCAA East Regional. He is currently No. 45 in the East Region in the 5,000m with his school-record 13:57.67 run achieved at the Raleigh Relays on March 23.
