
Tulane Finishes Ninth in Open Fleet Race National Championship

KINGS POINT, N.Y. – Tulane sailing finished ninth overall out of 18 teams in the 2023 ICSA Open Fleet Race National Championship on Friday. The Green Wave ended with a total of 171 points through nine rotations in the finals of the open fleet race championship. Â

Teams were limited to only three races in each division on Friday due to limited wind. Stanford won the open fleet race national title with a total of 93 overall points.

The effort from the Green Wave was led by the B Division which finished ninth with 78 total points. Ciara Rodriguez-Horan and Gillian Perrell teamed to post six top 10 finishes in the regatta including three top five finishes.

The Wave ended in 11th in the A Division with a total of 93 points. Cameron Giblin alongside Andrea Riefkohl-Gonzalez recorded five top 10 finishes including two inside the top three.

The Green Wave finish the 2023 spring campaign with 10 first place finishes.
