Green Wave Adds Eleven to Swimming and Diving Program

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane swimming and diving team welcomed eleven student-athletes into the fold for the 2023-24 season, the program announced Wednesday.

The group hails from five different states (Florida, Illinois, Massachusetts, North Carolina and Texas) and five different countries (Canada, Greece, New Zealand, Spain, and Turkey).

"We are so excited to welcome these women into our program," said Amanda Caldwell, Tulane's head coach. "While we have some big shoes to fill due to the graduation of Kate Amar and Mya Drost-Parra, we are excited that this group will come in and make an immediate impact. They will provide both depth and quality to all of our events. As a staff, we feel this group is a great representation for where we are going as a program."Â

Victoria Raymond (Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada)
Etiobicoke Swimming/TDSB Virtual School
Raymond is second in Ontario and ranked 58th nationally in the class of 2023. At Bell Canadian Swimming Trials this spring, she qualified to represent Canada in the fall at the World Junior Championships. She finaled at Trials in the 100 Fly, 200 Fly and 200 Back, where she also podiumed in the 100 and 200 Fly (third place each). Earlier in the school year, Raymond also "A" finaled at the TYR Pro Swim Series in Knoxville in the 100 Fly. She is qualified for the US Open in December and intends to major in Finance.

She owns 10 of her high school's records and the 200 IM record in the Athletic Conference of Private Schools of Greece. Strongyli is currently undecided on a major.

Last season, Corrado set personal bests at the Lake Erie Senior Championships where she won the 200 Back (1:59.50) and finished third in the 100 Back (57.04). She also "A" finaled in the 400 IM, 200 Breast and 200 Free at that meet. In the fall, she "A" finaled in the 200 Back for UNCW at the Gamecock Invitational, hosted by South Carolina. Her 400 IM time at that meet made her the 10th fastest in school history for the Seahawks.

At Old Dominion, she was a three-time CSCAA NIC qualifier and scored for the Monarchs at both the C-USA and CCSA Championships the past three years. Her best finish came in the 200 Free as she was 13th in the C-USA Championships in 2022. During her four years at ODU she made the all-time Top 10 school history list in the following: 400 Free Relay (second), 100 Free (third) and 50 Free (8th). She was also named C-USA Swimmer of the Week in three of her four years at ODU.
