Green Wave Unveils 2023 Volleyball Schedule

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Green Wave released its 2023 volleyball schedule on Monday.

The program, which welcomes nine newcomers this season, will open with its annual Olive and Blue Scrimmage on Wednesday, August 23 inside Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

The regular season begins in Mobile, Alabama where the Green Wave will face Jackson State and Stephen F. Austin before taking on the host Jaguars. Stephen F. Austin stormed through the Western Athletic Conference Tournament en route to a 26-5 record at season's end in 2022.

The team's second road weekend will be at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi, where the Olive and Blue will face Prairie View, Weber State and UTRGV. The Vaqueros won the WAC's regular season and piled up 27 victories last year, advancing to the National Invitation Volleyball Championship's quarterfinal round.

Tulane will host two tournaments once again this season. The Green Wave Classic will be held during the first weekend of September, while the Tulane Invitational will be Thursday, September 14-Saturday, September 16. The last match of the Invitational will be against Houston Christian, who posted 23 wins a a year ago and captured the Southland Conference's regular season championship.

The program opens its American Athletic Conference schedule on the road at USF on Wednesday, September 20. Tulane also has back-to-back road matches on Friday, November 3 and Saturday, November 4 at Rice, who emerged victorious in last year's Conference USA Tournament on its way to 27 wins and a second-round appearance in the NCAA Tournament.

For the home league slate, the Green Wave will welcome North Texas, Wichita State, Charlotte, UAB, SMU and Florida Atlantic. The Mean Green, 49ers, Blazers and Owls officially joined the conference this summer.

"I am looking forward to our non-conference schedule, as it is a great opportunity to face elite competition and high caliber teams from top conferences around the country," said head coach Jordana Price. "Our preseason schedule will prepare us to compete for the American Athletic Conference Championship. We have brought in extremely talented student-athletes and I'm excited to see our returners, transfers and incoming freshmen gel as a cohesive unit. I believe we will display the true grit and competitive culture needed to showcase the new era of Tulane Volleyball."
