Tulane Athletics Reveals New Taraflex® Volleyball Flooring

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane Athletic facilities team revealed the brand new Taraflex® playing surface to the volleyball team in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.

Taraflex® is a state of the art playing surface that increases the safety and protection of athletes competing on the surface. The flooring has higher Shock Absorption than other flooring surfaces that prevents long-term injuries. Additionally, it ranks higher on the Impact Protection Index which reduces the risk of injuries when athletes fall, slide, or dive.

Taraflex® is known as the premiere flooring for the sport of volleyball and Tulane is now one of the few schools in the American Athletic Conference to have it as their primary playing surface.

"We are thrilled to begin our 2023 season on the best volleyball surface in the world," said head coach Jordana Price. "We are extremely grateful for the support our volleyball program receives from our athletic department and fan base. The safety and protection Taraflex® provides our student athletes is unrivaled. We appreciate the time and effort it takes our facilities to make this dream court a reality. The Taraflex® court symbolizes a new era of volleyball in Fogelman Arena. The arena has a rich, historic tradition and we love that our new court transforms an already amazing competition field house into a spectacular volleyball arena. The reveal of our Taraflex® floor reflects the new foundation and promising future of Tulane Volleyball."

The Green Wave will debut the floor when it hosts its Olive and Blue scrimmage tonight. The scrimmage will be free of cost and open to the public.
