Aug 29, 2023 | Women's Tennis
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University Women's Tennis head coach Maria Brito announced the team's 2023 fall slate on Tuesday.
The Green Wave will compete in at least four tournaments with the chance to play in two more upon qualification.
To open the fall schedule the Wave will travel to Birmingham, Alabama, to participate in the Samford Invitational from September 22-24.
In October Tulane is guaranteed to compete in a pair of tournaments with a third on the schedule if the Green Wave qualifies for the Riviera/ITA Women's All-American Championships in Cary, North Carolina, from September 30 through October 8. Tulane is set to play in the ITA Regionals in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, from October 5-9 and the Roberta Alison Classic in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, from October 27-28.
The Green Wave will wrap up the fall season in November with a pair of tournaments. Up first, Tulane will stay in the Bayou State for the ULL Invitation in Lafayette on November 3-4. The final tournament on the schedule is another the Wave must qualify to participate in with the Oracle ITA National Fall Championships set for November 1-5 in San Diego, California.
Tulane returns all but one from the 2022-23 season after posting a 7-11 record in the spring 2023 dual match season. Among the returners are doubles partners Lahari Yelamanchili and Charlotte Russell who finished as the No. 71 doubles team in the nation. The Wave also added newcomer Delanie Tribby, who was ranked No. 12 in Florida and crowned the 2023 Class 4A Doubles Champion, while climbing as high as No. 56 nationally in singles.
