
Doubles Pairs Go Undefeated at the Battle at the Beach on Day Two

On the second day of the Battle at the Beach in Destin, Florida, Tulane representatives, freshman Hady Elkordy, junior Luc Hoeijmans, graduate student Benji Jacobson, and senior Fynn Kuenkler, went undefeated in doubles and picked up two singles wins.
The first doubles pair, which consisted of Elkordy and Kuenkler, defeated Baran Soyler and Gabriele Datei of Georgia State, 8-5.
Tulane's second doubles pair, Hoeijmans and Jabcobson, defeated Georgia State's Edward Tymes and Naufal Kamaruzzaman, 8-6.
The Green Wave faced off in singles against representatives from Florida State.
In the number one position, Hoeijmans was defeated by Florida State's Jamie Connel, 6-2 and 6-0.
Playing in the number two position, Kuenker took down Justin Lyons of the Seminoles in three sets (6-7, 6-1, 6-1).
In the number three position, Elkordy was defeated by Azariah Rusher, 6-0 and 6-1.
To finish day two, Jacobson took down Florida State's Carson Cerejo in three sets (6-4, 4-6, 6-4).
Tulane will wrap up the first weekend of the fall 2023 season Sunday, on day three of the Battle at the Beach.
