Jan 26, 2024 | Men's Basketball
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball (12-7, 3-4) will aim to bounce back into the win column as it hosts Charlotte (12-7, 6-1) in Uptown on Saturday afternoon. The Green Wave is 9-2 this season in the friendly confines of Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse.
Â
The game between the Green Wave and the 49ers is set to tipoff at 3 p.m. on ESPNU. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 104.1 The Spot with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
Â
This marks the 25th all-time meeting between the Green Wave and the 49ers with Tulane trailing in the series 9-15. Â
In its last time out, Tulane had victory ripped from its fingertips on a last second three-pointer by UTSA that handed the Green Wave an 89-88 defeat on the road on Wednesday. Four players scored in double figures for the Wave led by Kevin Cross and Jaylen Forbes with 23 points each. However, a rough shooting night from the charity stripe came back to cost Tulane as the team shot only 62.1 percent from the free throw line including a 12-for-21 performance in the second half.
Â
In Uptown this season Tulane holds a 9-2 record including a 2-1 mark in conference play. The Wave is averaging 90.9 points per game on 51.8 percent shooting from the floor at home this season. Tulane has scored exactly 1,000 points through 11 games at home so far.
Â
Charlotte enters the matchup riding a six-game win streak after defeating UAB at home 76-70 on Tuesday to improve to 12-7 overall and 6-1 in league play. The 49ers are led by three players in double figures with Lu'Cye Patterson leading the way with 14.3 points per game. Igor Milicic and Dishon Jackson follow with 12.6 and 11.0 points per game, respectively.
Â
