LYNCHBURG – The Tulane swimming & diving team won four events and had 14 top-three finishes in the team's 205.5-147.5 loss to Liberty on Saturday, Oct. 19, on the second day of the dual meet. In the two-day meet, the Green Wave totaled seven event wins, 26 top-three finishes, 21 season bests, seven lifetime bests and six NIC Cuts or Open Water Qualifiers.
"Overall a great weekend of competing for both swimmers and divers," head coach Amanda Caldwell explained. "Our divers added new dives to their list this weekend and the freshmen improved much from the weekend before. Liberty is known for having a strong diving squad and our Krewe did a great job on the boards. Our swimmers took on a challenge of competing in 3-4 events in the span of an hour. They did a great job rising up to the challenge with several hitting college and even lifetime best performances. A great weekend of competing coming off of midterms and I'm looking forward to getting back to work Monday to prepare for our next duals in Houston, Texas at the beginning of November."
