AAC FALL CHAMPIONSHIP CENTRAL
NEW ORLEANS – Tulane's men's tennis team will be in two places at once this weekend as it takes part in both the AAC Fall Championships in Houston and the CCB Invitational in Birmingham.
The American Individual Championships will be conducted for the first time in 2024 as the conference determines men's and women's champions in singles and doubles. The singles and doubles champions will represent the American Athletic Conference at the ITA Conference Masters Championships November 7-10 in Rome, Georgia.
Two singles players and one doubles tandem from each of the American Athletic Conference's 11 men's teams and 13 women's teams will compete for the individual titles.
First-round play in singles and doubles begins Thursday, while the round of 16 in singles concludes Thursday afternoon. The quarterfinals in singles and doubles will be played Friday, followed by Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's championship finals.
Consolation brackets in men's and women's singles will also be played, allowing each student-athlete the opportunity to play at least two matches.
Live coverage of the four championship finals begins at 9 a.m. CT on ESPN+. The most up-do-date information on The American Individual Tennis Championships, including links to live streams and scoring, is available on the conference's Championship Central.
Seniors Luc Hoeijmans and Luka Petrovic will play both singles and doubles (together) for the Green Wave in Houston.
Hoeijmans faces Temple's Adam Kresina in the first round of the Singles Main Draw at 11 a.m., with the winner getting fifth-seeded Timothy Carlsson Seger of Tulsa in the Round of 16 Thursday at 3:30 p.m.
Petrovic, the bracket's No. 10 seed, has a bye in the first round, as does his R16 opponent Harry Rock of Memphis, the No. 7 seed. That match will also occur at 3:30 p.m.
Tulane will also send five players (Charlie Burdell, Asaf Friedler, Maxim Kalinin, Steven Rice and Vincent Vohl) to the BCC Invitational in Birmingham this weekend where singles and doubles will also be contested. More information about that tournament will be posted to TulaneGreenWave.com when it becomes available.
