HOUSTON, TX – Tulane's Micah Pierce and Leigh Van Zyl are representing the Green Wave at the AAC Fall Championships, which are set to begin Thursday in Houston.
The American Individual Championships will be conducted for the first time in 2024 as the conference determines men's and women's champions in singles and doubles. The singles and doubles champions will represent the American Athletic Conference at the ITA Conference Masters Championships November 7-10 in Rome, Georgia.
Two singles players and one doubles tandem from each of the American Athletic Conference's 11 men's teams and 13 women's teams will compete for the individual titles.
First-round play in singles and doubles begins Thursday, while the round of 16 in singles concludes Thursday afternoon. The quarterfinals in singles and doubles will be played Friday, followed by Saturday's semifinals and Sunday's championship finals.
Consolation brackets in men's and women's singles will also be played, allowing each student-athlete the opportunity to play at least two matches.
Live coverage of the four championship finals begins at 9 a.m. CT on ESPN+. The most up-do-date information on The American Individual Tennis Championships, including links to live streams and scoring, is available on the conference's Championship Central.
