Oct 27, 2024 | Sailing
AUSTIN, Texas – For the fifth year in a row Tulane sailing earned the victory in the SEISA Women's Fall Championship on Sunday. The Green Wave cruised to the win by 21 points over the competition in the women's championship. However, the wind was not sustained for the SEISA Open Fall Championship as the competition was ruled a no contest.
On Sunday, teams completed five total rotations across two divisions to complete the SEISA Women's Fall Championship. Tulane claimed the top spot in the field of five teams finishing with a total of 15 points through 10 total races.
The Green Wave was led by Ashley Hoguet and Parker Kumler in the A Division. The duo posted the lowest score of the regatta with just seven total points across five races. Hoguet and Kumler finished first in three of their five races and landed second in the other two.
In the B Division, Lola Kohl and Taylor Bartell finished right behind their teammates with eight total points. The freshman pairing won two of their five races and ended in second in each of the other three.
Up next, Tulane will host the Baldwin Wood Open and Women's Fleet Races on Saturday, November 2, on Lake Pontchartrain.
