Tulane Holds Tie for Sixth in Ron Moore Intercollegiate

DENVER, Colo. – The trio of Cristina Albertazzi, Gabriella Gilrowski, and Matilde Innocenti each carded under par on Friday to pace Tulane golf in the opening round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate hosted by the University of Denver. The Green Wave ended the first day at -3 (285) to sit in a tie for sixth with San Diego State.

Albertazzi, Gilrowski, and Innocenti each opened the tournament with a 71 (-1) to hold a tie at 18th among the 81 players in the field. The Wave was led by Albertazzi with five birdies in the first while Gilrowski followed with four and Innocenti carded two.

The remaining two in the field for the Green Wave ended day one tied for 25th. Francesca Pompa and Sophia Yi-Ju Chen both recorded an even par (72) round on Friday. They each tallied four birdies in their first round to tie for second on the team.

As a team the Green Wave finished the opening round at -3 (285) to hold a tie for sixth out of 15 teams in the tournament. Tulane leads the tournament on par 3s averaging 2.85 strokes and is tied for fourth with 19 total birdies.

The Wave will continue play on Saturday for the second round of the Ron Moore Intercollegiate.
