Wave Welcomes Bethune-Cookman to Uptown Tuesday

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball returns to the friendly confines of Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse Tuesday night as it hosts Bethune-Cookman as part of the Cancun Challenge. The Green Wave will look to remain unbeaten at home and improve to 4-0 so far this season in Uptown.
The game between the Green Wave and the Wildcats is set to tipoff at 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 106.1 The Ticket and Heaven 106.7 with the voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
This marks the third all-time regular season meeting between Tulane and Bethune-Cookman with the Green Wave winning each of the previous matchups in Uptown. The last time the two programs played the Wave defeated the Wildcats 65-55 on November 13, 2012.
In its last time out, Tulane suffered its first loss of the season in its first road contest falling 67-75 to Furman in Greenville, South Carolina, on November 15. Asher Woods led a trio in double figures for the Green Wave against the Paladins posting 17 points off the bench to go with five rebounds and three assists. Gregg Glenn III and Mari Jordan each tallied 14 points for Tulane while Glenn III also pulled down 10 rebounds to notch his first career double-double.
Through November 17 the Green Wave leads the American Athletic Conference in field goal percentage defense holding opponents to 32.1 percent shooting from the field and blocks swatting 6.5 shots per game. Tulane also rates second nationally in field goal percentage defense, 17th in blocks per game, and 19th in scoring defense.
Bethune-Cookman enters the matchup with a 1-3 following a 75-62 victory at home over South Carolina State on Saturday, November 16. The Wildcats are led by a trio of players averaging double figures in scoring this season. Brayon Freeman leads the way with 13.3 points per game followed by Reggie Ward Jr. with 10.8 and Trey Thomas at 10.5.
Following the game against the Wildcats, the Green Wave will host cross-town foe New Orleans on Friday, November 22. The game between Tulane and the Privateers is set for 6:30 p.m. on ESPN+.
