
Swimming & Diving Finishes Strong on the Final Day of Magnus Cup

Day 3 Results
CLEVELAND – The Tulane swimming and diving team finished strong on Saturday on the final day of the Magnus Cup at the Busbey Natatorium. The program totaled a pair of school records, 11 top-three finishes, six event wins, 14 season bests, 15 lifetime bests, seven NIC automatics and seven NIC bonus cuts. On the weekend the program picked up 34 seasons best, 40 lifetime bests in finishing second overall among all the teams with 1358.50 points.
Maya Wilson earned the 100 free title with an NIC automatic mark of 48.90. The mark also was a school record.
Lise Coetzee won the 1650 free with a 16:51.31.
Catherine Russo tied for first in the 50 fly with a season-best 23.78. The mark was also an NIC automatic.
Andrea Zeebe won the 200 back with an NIC bonus cut of 1:57.32
Gwen Shahboz was first in the 200 breast with her NIC automatic mark of 2:14.46
Varvara Gkiouzepa Petropoulou won the 200 fly with her NIC automatic time of 1:58.58.
The 400 free relay team of Rafaela Sumida, Olcaytu Hatipoglu, Wilson and Russo swam a new school record time of 3:19.10 to place second in the event.
Wilson placed third in the 50 fly with an NIC automatic time of 24.05
Shahboz finished as the runner-up in the 200 back with an NIC bonus cut of 1:59.52
Russo earned third in the 100 free with an NIC bonus cut of 49.93.
Zeebe was third in the 50 back with an NIC automatic mark of 25.60.
