
Tulane Falls to Northern Arizona in St. Pete Showcase

TAMPA, Fla. - Tulane women's basketball (3-4, 0-0 AAC) wrapped up the St. Pete Showcase with an 87-70 loss to Northern Arizona (7-1, 0-0 Big Sky) on Saturday afternoon.
Kyren Whittington led the Wave with a game-high 23 points, however, Tulane struggled with shooting, finishing at 34.6% from the field (27-78) and 28.0% from three-point range (7-25). They also left points at the free-throw line, converting just 9-of-14 attempts.
The Olive and Blue fell behind early, shooting 34.8% in the first quarter and 28.6% in the second, trailing 39-32 at halftime. Despite improving to 42.9% shooting in the third quarter, Northern Arizona's offense remained dominant, particularly in the paint where they outscored Tulane 56-30.
Tulane showed resilience in the fourth quarter, but Northern Arizona's strong shooting in the final minutes helped secure the win. Kendall Sneed added 14 points, while Sherese Pittman finished with a double-double of 13 points and 10 rebounds.
Next, Tulane returns to Uptown for a four-game homestand, starting with a matchup against North Dakota State on Tuesday, Dec. 10, at 4:00 p.m. CT.
