NEW ORLEANS - Tulane women's basketball (4-4, 0-0 AAC) defeated North Dakota State (6-4, 0-0 Summit) 67-61 at home Tuesday afternoon, overcoming a slow start after shooting just 15.4% in the first quarter.
Sherese Pittman led the Wave with 22 points and eight rebounds, including four offensive boards. Kendall Sneed added 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists, while Victoria Keenan chipped in 10 points and eight rebounds. Amira Mabry also scored 10 points, shooting an efficient 5-of-7 from the field.
The Olive and Blue dominated inside with 46 points in the paint and 17 offensive rebounds, powering their comeback despite 16 points from North Dakota State's Marisa Frost.
Despite shooting 58.3% from the free-throw line (14-24) and making just one three-pointer, Tulane's strong rebounding and defensive pressure helped them hold off North Dakota State to secure the home victory.
Next up, Tulane will host Mercer University on Sunday, December 15, at 2:00 p.m. for the Hoopy Holiday game.
