Tulane Dominates Mercer at Home

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane women's basketball (5-4, 0-0 AAC) cruised to a 73-46 victory over Mercer (4-8, 0-0 SoCon) at home on Sunday afternoon.
Amira Mabry led the Green Wave with 15 points, shooting 5-of-9 from the field, and added seven rebounds. Kyren Whittington scored 12 points, while Victoria Keenan chipped in eight points and five rebounds. Sherese Pittman grabbed a team-high nine rebounds.
Tulane shot 48.1% from the field, including 46.7% from three-point range (7-of-15), while holding Mercer to just 29.3% shooting. The Olive and Blue dominated the boards, out-rebounding the Bears 44-32, with 11 offensive rebounds.
Mercer struggled offensively, shooting 29.3% from the field and 25.0% from three. Tulane's defense was key, limiting the Bears to just 17 points in the first half and building a steady lead by halftime.
Tulane kept up the pressure in the second half, finishing with a 16-9 advantage in the fourth quarter to secure the win.
This week, Tulane will host its Holiday Tournament, beginning on Friday, December 20, with a 2:30 p.m. CT matchup against Alabama A&M.
