The American Announces 2026-27 Women’s Basketball Scheduling Matrix

IRVING, Texas – The American Conference has announced the scheduling matrix for the league's upcoming 2026-27 women's basketball campaign. The matrix designates which conference foes Tulane will face home, away, or both.
Each member of the 13-team league will play 18 conference games against the other 12 squads. Each team plays six of the American teams twice, both home and away. The other six teams are played just once, with three occurring only at home and the other three occurring only away.
Tulane will face Rice, UTSA, and Temple only once apiece, all at home inside Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The six opponents that will also make appearances in New Orleans are North Texas, Florida Atlantic, Memphis, Charlotte, UAB, and Wichita State. The Green Wave will face each of them twice, home and away. The remaining three teams are South Florida, Tulsa, and East Carolina, all of whom Tulane will face just once on the road.
The full women's basketball schedule will be released at a later date.
Head coach Ashley Langford enters her third season at the helm of her alma mater. Kanija Daniel returns for her senior campaign after earning American All-Newcomer Team honors last season. Also returning are senior Jayda Brown, junior Sadie Shores, and sophomores Shiloh Kimpson and Madison Gordon. Additionally, Langford welcomes eight newcomers to Uptown, including the freshman duo of Ja'Kyah Smith and Kennedy Simpson. Joining the Wave through the transfer portal are Makayla Carter, Nataliyah Gray, Khadee Hession, Aizhanique Mayo, Asha Sra, and Edina Strausz.
