Tulane Opens Holiday Tournament with Victory Over Alabama A&M

NEW ORLEANS — Tulane women's basketball (6-4) opened its Holiday Tournament with a 53-46 home victory over Alabama A&M (6-4) on Friday afternoon.
Kyren Whittington led the Wave with a double-double, her first of the season, recording 15 points and 10 rebounds while adding four assists. Sherese Pittman added 11 points and seven rebounds, shooting 5-of-8 from the field. Amira Mabry added nine points and four rebounds, and Victoria Keenan grabbed 10 rebounds to go along with four points and four assists. Tulane outscored Alabama A&M 34-22 in the paint.
Alabama A&M struggled offensively, shooting 21.7% overall and 16.7% from three-point range. Tulane's defense made an impact, limiting the Bulldogs to just seven points in the second quarter.
Next, Tulane will take on ULM to close out the Holiday Tournament tomorrow, December 21, at 2:30 p.m. CT.
