NEW ORLEANS - The Tulane women's basketball team will host Mercer on Sunday at 2:00 p.m. CT at Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse, the second game of its four-game homestand.
Fans can watch the game live on ESPN+ and listen to the broadcast on the Tulane Sports Network through WBRH 88.3 FM, the Tulane Athletics App, or The Varsity Network App. Paul Boron will provide play-by-play commentary.
Last time out, Tulane women's basketball defeated North Dakota State 67-61 at home. After a slow start with just 15.4% shooting in the first quarter, the team bounced back to secure the win. Sherese Pittman led the way with 22 points and eight rebounds, while Kendall Sneed added 16 points, six rebounds, and four assists.Â
Mercer comes into Sunday's game after a 78-42 loss to Georgia Tech on December 10. They struggled offensively, shooting just 29.2% from the field. Ariana Bennett scored 12 points, and Ashlee Locke added 10. Despite hitting 80% of their free throws, Mercer couldn't keep up with Georgia Tech's scoring.
The all-time series between Tulane and Mercer is tied 1-1. The last meeting took place on November 19, 2023, in Macon, where Tulane won 64-58. The teams previously met in 1983, with Mercer winning 79-67 in a neutral-site game.
After the game, the Olive and Blue will prepare to host the Tulane Holiday Tournament, starting on Friday, Dec. 20.
