
Wave Duo Set to Race in ICSA Singlehanded National Championships

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane sailing duo of Ava Anderson and Matheo Capasso will represent the Green Wave on Saturday and Sunday, November 9-10, in the ICSA Singlehanded National Championships in Tampa, Florida. Anderson will aim to win back-to-back singlehanded national titles after winning the championship last fall while Capasso will be making his first appearance in the national championship.

The ICSA Women's Singlehanded National Championship will be raced for the Janet Lutz Trophy. Anderson will represent the Wave in the field of 18 sailors competing on the waters of Tampa Bay. Last fall, Anderson secured the national title as a freshman totaling 74 points across the 14 rotations in the regatta.

In the ICSA Open Singlehanded National Championship Capasso will compete for Tulane in a field of 18 sailors for the Glen S. Foster Trophy. The Green Wave was represented by Hamilton Barclay and Thad Lettsome who finished second and third in the championship last fall.

Both championships will feature 14 total races across the two-day regatta. Racing will begin at 9 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday in Tampa, Florida.
