
Janae Dean Sets the School 800m Record on Second Day of the Music City Challenge

Nashville, Tenn. – Tulane's Janae Dean set the school 800m record to help lead the indoor track and field team on the final day of the Music City Challenge on Saturday, Feb. 10, at the David Williams II Recreation Center. The day featured two school records and 10 personal bests.
Dean ran a 2:07.34 in the 800m to place eighth overall in the event. Her time broke Hanne Lyngstad's record 2:08.43 from 1999.
Also setting a school record for the Green Wave was Paula Vaquera in the seeded 3000m with a 9:31.88. Her time, which placed her 10th in the event, was nearly three seconds faster than Lynstad's mark of 9:34.38 also set in 1999.
Elena Liano-Rengel also etched her name in the school record book in finishing third in the unseeded 800m. Her time of 2:09.27 is currently the fifth fastest-ever at Tulane in the event. Also setting personal record in the event for Tulane were Anna Schadel with a 2:13.88 and Danna Diaz with a 2:14.40.
Kate Sander placed fifth in the pole vault with her 3.67m/12'0.50".
Karlijn Schouten earned fifth in the invited pole vault with a 3.96m/12'11.75".
Kaia Todd set a personal record with an 8.20 in the 60m. She also placed fifth in the triple jump with an 11.88m/38'11.75".
In the men's unseeded 800m, Jalen St. Fort set a personal record with 1:53.81. Zander Dunbar ran a 1:54.90. Sam Cohen set a personal record with his 1:55.52.
Ryan Adkins with the team's top finisher in 15th place in the unseeded 3000m with an 8:23.30.
Robyn Larkan placed seventh in the qualifying round of the women's 60m hurdles with her 8.72 and earned 15th overall in the event with her 8.78 in the first round
Abigail Heck set a personal record in the unseeded 400m with her 58.45. Alyssa Taylor also set a personal record with a 59.06 in the same event.
The women's 4x400m relay team of Laura Fodor, Alyssa Taylor, Liano-Rengel and Dean finished 11th with a 3:50.57.
The men's 4x400m relay team of Dunbar, Henne, St. Fort and Illia Kunin placed 13th with a 3:20.38
Jack Jennings took 19th in the seeded 3000m with his 8:15.42.
Next, Tulane heads to the LSU Twilight on Feb. 16 in Baton Rouge.
