NEW ORLEANS- The Green Wave men's tennis team experienced a hard-fought 4-3 loss against no. 24 Mississippi State.

Tulane initially surged ahead by clinching the doubles point in a thrilling manner. Billy Suarez and Benji Jacobson demonstrated their prowess by securing a 6-4 victory on court two against Mississippi State's duo. However, the Bulldogs swiftly retaliated, claiming a win on court three and setting the stage for an intense showdown on court one, where Alex Bancila and Luc Hoeijmans faced off against the nationally ranked no. 42 pair from Mississippi State.

The doubles match unfolded with electrifying tension, ultimately culminating in a tiebreaker. Demonstrating remarkable composure, Bancila and Hoeijmans clinched the tiebreaker set 9-7.

While Tulane exhibited tenacity in singles play, they fell short of amassing enough points to clinch victory.

Despite this, Fynn Kuenkler showcased unwavering determination on court four, triumphing over Mississippi State's Dusan Milanovic in a grueling three-set battle, with scores of 7(7)-6(2), 5-7, 1(12)-0(10).

Similarly, Rafael de Alba demonstrated his dominance on court six, securing a decisive victory over Robero Ferrer with scores of 7(7)-6(4), 6-3.

Tulane looks ahead to their next challenge as they prepare to face conference rival Tulsa at home on Friday afternoon.
