
Tulane Welcomes Temple to Uptown Sunday Afternoon

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University men's basketball (12-9, 3-6) will look to snap its three-game losing streak when it hosts Temple (8-13, 1-7) Sunday in Avron B. Fogelman Arena in the Devlin Fieldhouse. The Green Wave have not lost four games in a row since the 2020-21 season from February 17 to March 3.
The game between the Green Wave and the Owls is set to tipoff at 3 p.m. on ESPNU. Fans can also listen to the action live on the Tulane Sports Network from Learfield on 104.1 The Spot with the Voice of the Green Wave Corey Gloor or streaming on the Tulane Athletics App and The Varsity Network App.
This marks the 24th all-time meeting between the Green Wave and the Owls with Tulane trailing in the series 9-14. Tulane has won the last three matchups against Temple including an 83-82 victory last season. The Wave is 4-7 against the Owls in Uptown with wins in the last two games in New Orleans.
In its last time out, Tulane lost its third consecutive game after its comeback attempt fell short at SMU on Thursday ultimately losing 80-76. The Green Wave had not lost three-straight games dating back to last season when Tulane dropped three in a row from February 22 to March 1.
Tulane was led by a pair of 20-point performances by Kevin Cross and Sion James. Cross finished with 27 points to go with seven rebounds, four assists, and two assists. James tallied 20 points, seven boards, and five assists. The Wave also recorded a season-high 10 blocks as a team led by Collin Holloway with three.
In Uptown this season Tulane holds a 9-3 overall record and a 2-2 mark in conference play. The Green Wave is averaging 89.3 points per game at home on 50.8 percent shooting from the field and 37.6 percent from beyond the arc.
Temple enters the matchup on a six-game losing streak after falling in overtime at East Carolina 70-64 on Jan. 28. The Owls hold an 8-13 overall record and a 1-7 mark in league play. The Owls are 2-5 in true road games this season including 0-4 in conference. Junior Hysier Miller leads the Owls and rates sixth in the league in scoring averaging 16.05 points per game.
Following the matchup with Temple, the Green Wave will visit Memphis on Sunday, February 11. The game between Tulane and the Tigers is set to tipoff at 1 p.m. on either ESPN2 or ESPNU.
