Tulane Takes Down Blazers 4-1

NEW ORLEANS – Tulane University women's tennis (7-6) bounced back into the win column with a 4-1 victory over UAB (7-8) at City Park Tennis on Sunday. A dominant performance in doubles competition fueled the Green Wave to cruise past the Blazers.
The duo of Lahari Yelamanchili and Kristen Borland put the Wave in control of the doubles action securing the first win of the day for Tulane at court one 6-1. The Green Wave clinched the doubles point soon after on court two behind a 6-2 victory by Mackenzie Clark and Cora Barber.
In singles play, UAB tied the score at 1-1 with a two-set win on court three, but the Wave would not yield another point to the Blazers. Yelamanchili put Tulane back in front winning 6-1, 6-3 on court one. The Wave took a commanding 3-1 lead after Brooke Theis delivered a two-set win on court five 7-5, 6-4. Clark clinched the match for the Green Wave on court three winning 7-5 in both sets to make the final score 4-1 in favor of the Wave.
Tulane will be back in action at City Park Tennis Center on Monday against Louisiana-Monroe at noon.
