
Tulane Set to Sail in Two Weekend Regattas

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University sailing team will return to the northeast this weekend for a pair of regattas on Saturday and Sunday. The Green Wave women's crew will compete in the St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race while the Wave coed team will be on the water for the Graham Hall Team Race.

The St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race will be hosted by St. Mary's College at the James P. Muldoon River Center on the waters of the St. Mary's River. Tulane will be one of 15 teams competing in the regatta. The field includes Christopher Newport, College of Charleston, Cornell, Fordham, George Washington, Georgetown, Hobart and William, North Carolina State, Northeastern, Old Dominion, St. Mary's, Tufts, Michigan, and Vermont.

The fleet racing will take place in two divisions with each consisting of a maximum of 14 races. On Saturday, competition will begin by 9 a.m. CT and on Sunday sailors will hit the water by 8:30 a.m. CT.

The Graham Hall Team Race will be hosted by Navy in Annapolis, Maryland, with the race area in the mouth of the Back Creek. The Green Wave is one of 16 teams competing in the regatta with a field that includes Harvard, College of Charleston, Yale, Tufts, Old Dominion, SUNY Maritime College, George Washington, Georgetown, Navy, Brown, St. Mary's College, Cornell, Hobart and William, Penn, and Fordham.

Racing for the Graham Hall Team Race is scheduled to start at 8:45 a.m. CT on Saturday and Sunday.
