
Wave Takes Second at St. Mary’s Women’s Fleet Race

NEW ORLEANS – The Tulane University women's squad claimed the second spot out of 15 teams at the St. Mary's Women's Fleet Race in St. Mary's City, Maryland, on Sunday. Meanwhile, the Green Wave coed team finished 10th out of 15 teams in the Graham Hall Team Race in Annapolis, Maryland.
After leading the field at the end of racing on Saturday, Tulane dropped one spot to land second in the St. Mary's Women's Team Race with 148 points through 14 rotations. The Wave was paced on the water by the racing of Lucy Spearman, Audrey Permenter, Ella May Corckran, and Mira Herlihy in the B Division with 63 total points to finish second in the division. In the A Division Tulane posted 85 points to land fifth behind the racing of Ava Anderson, Essie Clifton, and Cate Anderson.
Tulane only managed to add one win on Sunday going 1-3 to finish 6-9 overall and land 10th in the Graham Hall Team Race. The Green Wave defeated SUNY Maritime Sunday to go with its wins over Tufts, College of Charleston, Penn, Hobart and William, and Fordham from Saturday.
Up next, the Tulane will compete in the Duplin Women's Team hosted by Harvard in Boston and the Szambecki Team Race hosted by Old Dominion in Norfolk, Virginia. The two regattas will be held March 23-24.
