Wave Out West for PCH Open
Mar 22, 2024 | Women's Beach Volleyball
LOS ANGELES – Tulane University beach volleyball (13-5) will travel to California this weekend to play in the PCH Open hosted by Loyola Marymount on Saturday and Sunday, March 23-24. The Green Wave will compete in four duals including two against a ranked opponent at the LMU Beach Volleyball Courts.
Â
The weekend of competition will open against Colorado Mesa for the Wave on Saturday at 2 p.m. CT followed by a matchup with the tournament host No. 10 Loyola Marymount at 4 p.m. CT.
Â
Tulane has never faced the Colorado Mesa Mavericks and holds an 0-2 mark against the tenth-ranked LMU Lions. The Green Wave lost to the Lions 3-0 in the latest matchup at The March to May in Gulf Shores, Alabama, in 2023.
Â
On Sunday, the Wave will square off with LMU again at 2 p.m. CT before finishing the weekend against Pepperdine at 4 p.m. CT.
Â
The Green Wave has only faced the Pepperdine Wave once in program history. Tulane dropped the dual 5-0 in Miami, Florida, at the FIU Surf & Turf Tournament in 2013.
Â
Last weekend Tulane went 3-1 at the Sugar Beach Bash in Youngsville, Louisiana. The Green Wave started the event 3-0 defeating South Carolina 3-2, Houston Christian 5-0, and Stephen F. Austin 4-1 before dropping its final dual 3-2 against Boise State.
Â
Following the PCH Open, Tulane will remain out west making the trip to Northridge, California, to play CSUN and CSU Bakersfield on Wednesday, March 27.
